Description

The purpose of this session is to provide a comprehensive overview of recent legal developments that have particular importance to LGBTQ+ people and address the current state of the Affordable Care Act's gender identity nondiscrimination protections.

Presenter is Steve Kilar, MJ, JD, Communications Director, American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona (ACLU). Before joining the ACLU, Mr Kilar was a reporter at The Baltimore Sun and an attorney in New York City. He studied English at Brown University, received a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and then earned a master's in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is currently a doctoral student in journalism and mass communication at Arizona State University.
