Legal and Effective Interviewing Techniques - Chicago (HR Credit)

This workshop addresses best business process for conducting lawful employment interviews. It identifies federal and state laws that regulate the employment interview; “do’s and don’ts” for interviewing questions; and proper documentation/recordkeeping required by the appropriate enforcement agencies. This workshop is a must for human resource personnel, management staff and all other employees involved in the employment selection process. Training material is based on relevant federal and state law and provides specific examples for interviewing teams.
At the end of this training, a PHR, SPHR or GPHR will be able to:
· Prepare for any interview
· Set the tone for the interview
· Gather information from each applicant
· Differentiate between legal and illegal questions
· Offer reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities
· Close an interview
The HR Certification Institute has approved this activity for 1.75 hours of general recertification credit.
Note: The service fee is charged by Eventbrite for credit card processing and is not received by the Illinois Department of Human Rights. We will accept a check via certified funds however the check must be received at least 14-days prior to training. Personal checks and money orders are not accepted.
