This is a 4-hour skill development (footwork, ball-handling, shooting, defensive skills, and much more) camp primarily for young players. Athletic 2nd graders are the youngest allowed, especially if there is a true and apparent love for basketball. This is a competitive camp and may not be the best place to do an initial discovery if your young child loves basketball. On the other end range of the campers' capability, instructions at this camp are suitable for athletes as high as the 9th grade level.
Expect your athlete to be coached on skills such as:
- Purposeful and efficient footwork
- Speed and agility
- Proper basketball technique across various disciplines
- Mental toughness in competition
- Court vision and the purpose of timely passing
- In-game communication
- Rebounding technique and positioning
- Moving with purpose (proper understanding)
- and more...
About Coach Bambolo:
He was born in Liberia (West Africa) and was recruited directly out of Africa to play college basketball in the United States. As such, he has a deep understanding for learning the game if even with limited means. He is passionate about teaching proper fundamentals, hard work, and the character of the athlete. As an athlete he frequently earned honors such as academic and league all-conference, player of the week, field goal percentage leader, amongst other recognition. He also received the honorable All-American recognition as a collegiate athlete. As a coach, he and his team (players and coaches) took a worse-in-the-league high school KingCo 4A program from the bottom to a competitive top third team in under 4 years. He currently trains all levels of players including pro athletes and still enjoys competing as an athlete regularly.
Legacy Builders Basketball is a certified member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) committed primarily to skill development.
