Legacy Arts International

presents our first local concert in Princeton!

Featuring the pianist/harpsichordist Rebecca Cypess, neo-folk duo Damsel, and demonstrations of the cutting-edge bitKlavier instrument during an exquisite reception.

Rebecca Cypess is Associate Professor of Music at Rutgers University. As a performer she explores unknown repertoire and performance practices of the 17th and 18th century that have been brought to light through new research. In this performance, she'll bring her 1817 fortepiano to perform music from the salon of Anne-Louise Brillon de Jouy, a late-eighteenth-century composer, patron, and friend of Benjamin Franklin.

The Indie Neo Folk duo Damsel integrates their background as classical chamber musicians with folk music leanings to create an intricate instrumental sound around tight vocal harmonies. The singing-songwriting team is Monica Mugan on vocals/acoustic guitar and Beth Meyers on vocals/viola/banjo/ukulele. Damsel’s debut album "Just Sit So" is available on iTunes and cdbaby.

The bitKlavier is a new software instrument designed by Princeton University music professor Dan Trueman. It connects to a digital piano, where it expands enormously the possibilities and pleasures of keyboard playing. We'll have a few stations set up for people to try this fascinating technology.

We are delighted to have this event and reception with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails sponsored by Miele in their beautiful "Experience Center." During the reception, an interactive demonstration of the fantastic bitKlavier instrument will be installed in the space.

Tax deductible donations to Legacy Arts International 501(c)3 can be made when registering for this event.  A suggested donation of $20 will gratefully accepted at the door.

Míele's pursuit of excellence and commitment to uncompromising quality has never been simply about better home appliances. Instead, it has always been about discovering ways to help its customers live better. This philosophy is rooted in the heritage and the desire of the fourth generation owners to ensure this family tradition is proudly exhibited, every day – in the products, services and resource centers. Founded in Germany in 1899 with a single promise of Immer Besser, a phrase meaning "Forever Better," Miele has grown to become the world's largest family-owned appliance company. To learn more, visit, and follow us @MieleUSA.
