A one-off event in Leeds for Scalarama 2016 - a rare screening of the Wim Wenders film Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin) in the gorgeous setting of Left Bank Leeds, a huge former church in Headlingley.
Wings of Desire is a black-and-white, existential romantic fantasy that follows a melancholy trapeze artist and a fallen angel in their search for love and meaning in a desolate 1980s vision of Berlin.
Unlikely stars of the film include the Berlin Wall that splits the east from the west and an appearance of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, who lurch onto the stage as the image shifts into colour.
