About this event
As an essential piece of military gear, uniforms played a key role in the formation of a woman’s armed force during World War II. Over time, dress, hair, and makeup standards were codified and then altered as women’s roles in the military evolved.
Air Force veteran and educator Mel Bloom works at Battleship Cove in Fall River to develop programs that highlight women’s military history from 1942-1949. She is completing her graduate studies in Architecture and Historic Preservation at Roger Williams University.
