Description

Please join us for our Fall 2018 public program, A Lost Chapter Read Anew - The Visionary Art & Design of Edgar Miller. This event is the second in a three-part series that seeks to dig deeper into the overlooked history of Edgar Miller, the 20th century American artist, craftsman, and creative spirit.

The speaker for this lecture, entitled “Sculpture as Texture: Edgar Miller’s Reliefs”, will be Marin R. Sullivan, a Chicago-based art historian and curator. She holds a PhD in History of Art from the University of Michigan. She has published widely on modern and contemporary sculpture, and is currently co-curating the upcoming exhibition, “Harry Bertoia: Sculpting Mid-Century Modern Life,” opening at the Nasher Sculpture Center in September 2019.

This program is part of Art Design Chicago, an initiative of the Terra Foundation for American Art exploring Chicago's art and design legacy, with presenting partner, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.

We are excited to host this series in partnership with DePaul Art Museum in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The program is funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art, with presenting partner The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
