Description

Join us as we register students in our new online program. After you have completed the introductory program, we will invite those who wish to participate in our Rapid Prototype Certification Classes.

We prepare students for bay area jobs requiring knowledge of advanced 5G wireless network systems, address the regional skills gap, and are responsible for evangelizing Cisco Meraki through our world-class technical certification course and customized technical engagement apprenticeship program through the State of California Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

Each Class receives at a minimum:

15 Curriculum Study Guides
15 Action Step Checklists

Exit Exam and Certification
Civil Service/other exams as part of the app process for new trainees
Pilot Cohort of 15 begins on October 1, 2019
Second Cohort of 30 begins on January 2020

Program schedule:
Monday – Thursday OJT
Course work – Evenings and on-line
Fridays – @ the Goodwill/Google Training Center for Lab and Mentored Study Hall

The goal of the cohort(s) of 15 will be to introduce our methodologies (Maker-Hacker-Network Engineer) and results; to inspire city leaders, economic development teams, and localists to the tools they need to move from hopelessness to tangible progress; since 2013 we have used Cisco Network Academy Tools and Training to illustrate how to create a renewed sense of community and to understand how and when to invite an innovation partner to come in and inject their methodology, thinking, and best practices.

To support both pre-release and post-release operational needs, we have developed a consortium of secondary schools, community colleges, labor agencies, employers and industry representatives that are committed to building career pathways leading to jobs in high-demand industries that offer “stackable” credentials (i.e., a sequence of credentials that can be accumulated over time).

Our partners have a fiscal audited history of at least 3 years, familiar with Pub.L. 112–106 (2012 Jobs Act), Agreements with California as CalFresh Employment & Training), and the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Our tipping point is at the end of the 3 year period; where our initial group will be able to exit our model fully enabled to maintain active employment in a technical career field, find suitable and market wage employment locally, and afford a modest mortgage. With the assistance of the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards, and the California Employment Development Department we are now working to identify our first 15 -20 potential employers.

Local Employers are able to participate through the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards under file number 29710, CityLab Professional On-The-Job Training program in 15-1152.00 - Computer Network Support Specialists, and DAS Form 101; CityLab Professional Cisco Network Apprenticeship Program.

The employer is able to interview a next-generation job seeker able to fill their skill gaps by working directly in our employer designed externship (pre-apprenticeship program) with their sponsor company, migrating information to the cloud, and performing support for operations in IOT, and related careers.
