Audience: This course is suitable for Ofgem colleagues at all levels.

This course has been designed to make you more aware of the nature and scale of the climate change crisis, the UK’s Net Zero 2050 commitments for addressing the crisis and the reasons why it’s important we act now.

Overview

This course has been designed to make you more aware of the nature and scale of the climate change crisis, the UK’s Net Zero 2050 commitments for addressing the crisis and the reasons why it’s important we act now.
Featuring a virtual workshop, the course explores how you can contribute to net zero through your influence at work.
It also considers the impact you can have in a personal capacity, through socially responsible lifestyle changes that can help reduce your carbon footprint.

Learning outcomes:

Define key terms related to net zero (‘carbon neutral’, ‘adaptation’, ‘resilience’ and ‘mitigation’) and identify the links between these

Establish why climate change, net zero, climate adaptation and resilience are important
Identify, at a high level, what the UK government has committed to delivering
Articulate, at a high level, the range of levers and opportunities that are available to your organisation
Recognise how the net zero agenda impacts your area of work and your commitments
Identify opportunities to collaborate with others across sectors, industry and other organisations to accomplish the Net Zero 2050 commitments

Pre-Work Workbook:

This course come with a Pre-Course Workbook that must be completed before the start of the session, this will come directly from the supplier. LOD also have a copy of this information and it will be made available for colleagues before the session.
