Event description

Description

This is the first in a series of very targetted 'learning events' where interested people can get together and share knowledge or ask for help with solutions for thier own circumstance. Its all planned to be very informal, and a way of sparking ideas for imporving our practice.

The format will be one of a brief presentation/reports from someone from partner project and a report back from Time to Shine on learning from previous projects - then over lunch there will be a chance for you to ask questions of others, or present your own problem/issue/suggestion and ask for ideas about how you could do things in your project. It really doesn't matter if you don't know anything about the subject as yet - you might just come along to learn more.

The event is open to staff or volunteers from any organisations working with older poeple who would like to know more about the subject.

This first meeting will consider issues around running successful projects for BAME communities, run with help from Toshal and Bally from Health for All, on how their support for the BME network worked and the things they learned. Jessica from Time to Shine will also talk about what the LIHH CARA project learned about supporting the older Irish community, and how the lessons from that are applicable in other ways.

Please bring your own lunch, we'll provide hot drinks and given that is it nearly Christmas, I might run to mince pies...
