Event Details

The exponential growth of technology over the past 10 years has changed the educational landscape, creating more ways to teach and learn than ever before.  While there is much public discussion regarding educational technology, there is a lack of critical discussion regarding the design of the learning environments where this technology is used. The design of the learning environment, whether in a classroom, an open space, or in a digital environment, is an important contributor to the learning experience for a student.

This round-robin workshop will give local students, educators and administrators the opportunity to actively discuss and create ideas regarding the future of learning environment design in Philadelphia Public and Charter high schools.  This will result in a report that  educators and administrators can reference for ideas and discussion  as technology continues to demand more inclusion into the everyday curriculum.

We will discuss and practice learning environment design considering the following areas:
Technology Practice in the Classroom
Self-Directed Learning & Flipping the Classroom
Digital Learning Environments
Physical Design & Aesthetics

Please join us for this exciting day!  Lunch will be provided.
