Event Details

 This Learning Circle will provide an opportunity for practitioners to learn about innovative ways/models of engaging youth in financial literacy as it relates to educational attainment.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the Youth Financial Literacy Program (FLIP) and hear from a panel representing six different perspective related to youth educational attainment and financial literacy.

Fiona Deller, Research Director, at HEQCO will share research findings on Post-Secondary Educational Attainment as it relates to Financial Literacy.

Michelle Smith, Special Gifts Development Officer, will present an overview of United Way Toronto’s Financial Literacy Strategy and the three Pillars of the Youth Strategy.

Participants will also actively engage in a discussion on how financial literacy (initiatives) can help to collectively achieve greater impact related to youth educational attainment.

United Way Toronto (UWT)’s Community of Practice on Youth Educational Attainment Partnerships (CoP) is a Toronto-wide initiative through which a network of practitioners with common interests in supporting youth to be successful in school has come together to share knowledge about effective practice and explore innovative solutions with the goal of improving youth educational attainment outcomes by strengthening the collective learning environment of the stakeholders working in the field.
