Join special effects expert Marc Fields for this three hour mold making workshop at NYC Resistor. During this class participants will make a mold of an object of their choice (*see below). Mr. Fields will consult with each student on the best mold technique and material for each specific piece - then assist throughout the process.
Topics covered in this class include;
• choosing casting media (wax, urethane, chocolate, low-melt metal, etc.)
• choosing molding material (plaster gauze, alginate, silicone, plastilene, etc.)
• one and two piece molds
• brush on molds
• pour & blanket molds
*PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to bring your own artwork to class to make a mold of we ask that you submit pictures of the models for approval before the class. Artwork to be molded may not have any dimension larger than 4in. Because it is a short amount of time some models may be too complicated to complete. If you do not want to bring your own piece to make a mold from we will provide you with a model to use. Email photos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
