Learn to Code with Kibo Robots
Sun, September 3, 2017, 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM BST
For children aged 5-8 years. Yes your 5 year old can code robots!
During these very hands-on computer-free sessions, children will learn to code using the playful Kibo robotics kit by Kinderlab Robotics.
Using code-imbedded wooden blocks, children will compose code, scan it into their robot and make their robots act! Their robots can move, make sounds, flash lights and respond to their environment.
Childen will learn about sequences, loops and conditional statements and use this to make increasingly complex code. They are given coding challenges and games to consolidate their learning. Participants will also be introduced to the sound, light, and distance sensors and use these to make their robot respond to its environment. They will also learn about the science behind these sensors.
Each session is themed and includes some artwork or other creative activity. Class size is very small ensuring that each child is supported.
