For our Code Immersion Program starting in mid-October, we are looking for passionate, persistent, and creative people looking to do something BIG. We believe anyone can learn to code if they put their mind to it so, we focus on drive and passion rather than lengthy pedigrees or resumes.
In our increasingly tech-driven world, we believe everyone should have some level of exposure to programming, how the internet works, and how technology can be used to solve real-world programs. Even for folks who don't aspire to be a professional programmer, programming teaches us a whole new way of thinking creatively through problems and looking at the world. For aspiring entrepreneurs, the ability to prototype ideas and quickly build MVPs (minimum viable products) to share and pitch to others can be a real game-changer.
In our Code Immersion Program, we'll be teaching the following:
- Ruby on Rails
- Domain Modeling
- HTTP and "RESTful" Design
- How to utilize APIs
Students will come out of our program with a tremendous foundation in web development and the know-how to code, design, and ship dynamic database-backed web applications.
During the course of our program, students will also have the opportunity to work on real projects from real companies through our Student Web Development Program. This program gives local companies "wallet-friendly" web development (overseen and supported by the Tech Talent South staff) and gives our students the opportunity to build up their portfolio during our program. We think this is a major win win for everyone involved.
Applications are due on 9/7/13. Apply now at TechTalentSouth.com
