Event description

Description

Shooting an eclipse is unlike shooting anything else. Prior to the eclipse event in August, come learn everything you’ll need to know to get the perfect solar eclipse shot!

What You’ll Learn

  • Proper exposure techniques for eclipse conditions
  • How to outthink your camera’s meter
  • Why eclipse filters are a must, and how to work them
  • How to properly focus on the sun
  • The best lens options and tripods to work with to make sure your shot comes off the way you want it

Marc Morris of Tamron Lenses and Rob Moody of Manfrotto Tripods will also be there to help you get the most out of this class and the Solar Eclipse event!

Because of the extremes in brightness as well as in light contrast, capturing the perfect eclipse shot is not as straightforward as you may think. This condition will fool your camera’s internal meter and autofocus system.

While learning how to shoot the eclipse, we will also explore how to critically think about exposure. Gaining these skills will allow you to tackle any variety of astronomical events with confidence.

Shooting into the sky requires an understanding of the limits of your camera’s light meter and how to arrive at an exposure no matter the circumstances. With the theory provided in our class, along with practical application, you’ll be a master in no time!

At the class you'll receive a $20 voucher, good for anything at any Mike's Camera!
