What is Qi Gong? Qi Gong (pronounced chee gung) is an ancient Chinese mind body practice that restores wellness, builds mental and emotional strength, reduces stress and increases vitality. Qi Gong is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the grandfather of Tai Chi which was developed later for combat. Qi (Pronounced Chee) is the circulating life force (or energy) whose existence and properties are the basis of much Chinese philosophy. This energy flows through our bodies and everything in nature. Gong is cultivation. Therefore, Qi Gong is energy cultivation. The body has energy channels that run throughout the body, intersecting all your major organs. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine when these channels are blocked or if the energy is stagnant, disease can set in.
I teach a set of movements called the 18 Luohan hands and the 5 Yin Organ routine. In this workshop I will teach you six movements from the 18 Luohan hands in a five step routine that you can use daily to move and increase your energy to improve your health. The 18 Luohan hands claim to fame is that they cure 1000 diseases. Note: The six movements are different from the April 22 class. Attend both and you will learn 12 different movements.
