LEAN VISUAL MANAGEMENT LAB
THIS IS NOT AN ORDINARY WORKSHOP. THIS IS A LAB. . .
YOU WILL LEAVE IMPLEMENTATION-READY TO CREATE
We will introduce the tools and practices of visual management as one of the core components of the Lean Management System. We take an intensive hands-on approach, which is informed by our experience working with literally hundreds of teams over the past 10 years. The lab is a mix of creativity, scientific rigor, rapid experimentation and evidence-based decision-making within your organization- at scale.
In a traditional environment, at the end of each month or quarter there is a great deal of data gathering, analysis, synthesis, and deliberation over what just happened and what will be done during the coming period. This has sometimes been characterized as steering a boat by looking at the wake. Visual management is an approach designed to show leaders & teams clear priorities and real-time progress they are making towards goals. In the course of doing so, managers experience new found capacity in terms of time as teams are engaged in a way that heads off crises and allows for predictive problem-solving.
You will learn how to create a cohesive visual management system that provides a complete picture on where issues exist in your programs and how to address them. You will walk away having learned & created new tools for managing your work/teams:
Design visual boards and displays to use with teams to create clarity and alignment
Prototype visual management tools for your teams to show performance
Develop a management model that supports daily team-based problem solving and experimentation
