Event description

Description

The League of Women Voters Minneapolis, Minnesota Rising and Leaders of Today and Tomorrow invite you to join us for a conversation around Sheryl Sandberg's highly-anticipated new book, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, which examines women's progress in achieving leadership roles and offers solutions that can empower women to achieve their full potential.

We'll be joined by leading ladies from different sectors of Twin Cities industry to help shape the conversation and inspire dialogue:
  • Kate Knuth, former Minnesota State Representative
  • Jennifer Godinez, Associate Director at Minnesota Minority Education Partnership
  • Anita Patel, Vice President of Racial Justice and Public Policy at the YWCA
Part panel and part modified-book club, the conversation will explore the personal and political implications of women's leadership today. Whether you've read the book or not, you're welcome to sit at the table and share your individual perspective on this urgent and universal question!

Space in Wilde Roast's back room is limited, so register today. Your $10.00 admission will get you a beverage and appetizer buffet.

Join us on Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30pm for social half-hour. Program runs from 6:00-8:00pm.

Questions? Contact Alison Griffin, griffin.alison[at]gmail.com, or Diane Tran, minnesotarising[at]gmail.com.
