Leading with Cultural Intelligence Webinar (Nov 17th, 2016)
Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (PST)
The more we learn about the brain, the more validation science is giving that 'one-size-fits-all' approach to leadership is no longer sufficient to effectively engage an increasingly diverse, multicultural, and international array of business stakeholders. More than ever before, the capacity to manage and leverage cultural differences is becoming an increasingly important skill for individuals at all levels of the organization and especially at the managerial and senior leadership level.
The presentation will introduce a framework for understanding cultural differences by focusing on three core cultural dimensions that drive behavior in cross-cultural collaboration. Understanding these dimensions is essential to understanding what dignity means in different cultures and for preventing cultural misunderstanding from turning into dignity violations that erode trust and undermine performance in the context of cross-cultural collaboration.
You will come away with a greater understanding of the challenges of leading and working in culturally diverse teams. You will gain fresh insights to help you examine your culturally learned assumptions about leadership and dignity and adapt your communication and leadership styles to the needs and demands of cross-cultural environments.
At the end of this webinar, you will:
- Recognize the challenges of leading in a cross-cultural environment and gain a better understanding of the essential leadership skills for leading culturally diverse teams and stakeholders
- Understand how culture shapes our definition of dignity and respect and the implications for engaging culturally diverse teams and stakeholders
- Gain practical strategies for how to adapt your communication and leadership styles to the needs and demands of culturally diverse teams and stakeholders
