Event description

Description

Leading with Autonomy®, a unique research-based, frontline-manager leadership development program, focuses on improving the commitment and performance of employees by enhancing their willingness and ability to successfully do autonomous and accountable work. The program develops your frontline managers' ability to know when, how, how much, and why to grant autonomy to their people.

Frontline managers today have more responsibilities and more direct reports than ever, but less time to lead their people and manage their own priorities. With the added issues of employee disengagement and high turnover, these managers have a lot to juggle.

Yet, while frontline managers know they are spread thin, many fail to see how they can improve their productivity and that of their direct reports by setting clear expectations for autonomous and accountable work. Rather, they waste limited time by micromanaging the work of their employees. They need a new approach to help them meet these challenges.

Autonomy

BE GREAT LLC definition: A learnable, frontline-manager leadership behavior that gives employees an appropriate and accountable level of freedom to perform their jobs and work duties.

Our 16-month research study surveyed 2,200 people across 900 companies and revealed that granting employees more autonomy and not micromanaging them is the number-one predictor of employee commitment and performance.

Oregon State University’s Dr. Darlene Russ-Eft led our research team. She has published over 30 book chapters and over 60 journal articles, many of which are related to leadership, development, and evaluation of learning interventions.

Please join us on October 17th from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Classroom A.

Complimentary breakfast starts at 7:45 am and lunch will be provided.
