Description

Leading While Black - Winning at Leadership in an Imperfect World

This interactive workshop will explore our understanding of the prominent operating models of the social sector and how to navigate them using an anti-racist lens. Participants will develop tools and strategies for encouraging an anti-racist climate within their organizations and within the sector, as well as discussing and highlighting strategies for tackling situations that can undermine and derail one’s professional trajectory in the field.

Key Takeaways:

  • Ability to frame the POC leadership experience using an anti-racism framework
  • Understanding the nuances of leading while Black as they pertain to bias
  • Building leadership competency in the face of adversity and self-preservation while navigating institutional and systemic racism
  • Paying it forward – how to develop a pipeline of POC leaders

This workshop will be presented by Dr. Danielle Moss, Chief Executive Officer of Oliver Scholars

Area of Excellence: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
