A 3-day Learning Experience
Downtown Sioux Falls: November 5-7, 2015
You are invited to join this 3-day learning experience in the Art of Hosting Conversations That Matter, hosted by Kathy Jourdain, Jerry Nagel and Joe Bartmann, in the heart of the prairie. How do you have meaningful conversations around complex issues where people have different perspectives and world views? How do you harvest meaning from those conversations?
How could building your confidence to host conversations of possibility shift your work and life? Are you ready to grow your practice of hosting inclusive, generative conversations? Learn and practice proven patterns and methods for collaborative leadership and change at Leading Together this November. Enrollment is open to everyone, but space is limited. These events tend to fill up quickly.
This special 3-day event will give you hands-on learning and practice. We’ll tailor the experience for whoever shows up (there is no room for spectators). Here are some of the approaches and frameworks we may explore:
- World Cafe
- Design Process
- Peer Spirit Circle Practice
- Reflective Listening
- The Art of Powerful Questions
- Chaordic Path
- Theory U
- The Art of Harvesting
This Is For You If:
- You are tired of boring meetings and the same old debates.
- You are hungry for a better way to host collaborative conversations that lead to deeper engagement and wise action.
- You are ready to learn new ways to step in, step up and practice hosting the possibility that lives in collective wisdom.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will I be an expert host coming out of this training?
We call hosting an "art," so you probably cannot master it in 3 days. We'll all come out of this shared experience as inspired and connected practitioners at many different levels of experience and skill. There is no certification process. We aim to launch people as practitioners who see their life and work a little differently and want to help each other evolve and begin mastering your skills. You'll share in the opportunity to get your hands on methods and to host parts of the workshop yourself, with support from the core team. We bring real life work and problems into our practices. There is no role playing--everything we do is real.
What are my transportation/parking options getting to the event?
There is plenty of free parking at Cherapa Place. Just park in the surface lot directly East of the building, entering from either 8th Street or 6th Street.
If you need a ride, please let us know and we'll help arrange it.
I'm from out of town. Where should I stay?
There are three hotels in the East Bank neighborhood of Downtown Sioux Falls, where Cherapa Place is located. Get contact info for all downtown hotels here: http://dtsf.com/discover-downtown/hotels/
- Hilton Garden Inn
- Holiday Inn City Centre
- Country Inn and Suites
Are there any scholarships available?
Yes, a very limited amount of scholarship is available. If you are unable to pay the full registration amount, please contact us and we'll talk it through with you.
If you have been invited by any of the following organizations, then you should have a discount code. If you were invited by one of these organizations and do not have your code, please contact the person who invited you.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Contact Joe Bartmann:
Is my registration transferrable?
