This workshop provides insights and personal strategies to becoming an empowered and highly effective employee in the nonprofit workplace. Using proactive leadership tools that have been tried and tested in both the corporate world and in grassroots leadership development programs, this training session will enrich your personal development path to help you to grow and develop your capacity to make a deeper impact for your organization. This session will address the following questions:

  • How can I increase my overall value and impact by becoming a more effective employee?
  • What is strategic thinking and how can I use it to enhance my work experiences?
  • What can I learn from the “7 Habits of Highly effective People” to increase my capacity?
  • How can time management strategies work better by simplifying how I set my priorities?
  • What is active listening and how can it help me become a better communicator?
  • What can I learn from puzzles that will help me build productive work relationships?

Trainers:

  • A. Stan Davis, Leadership Development Consultant
  • A. Stan Davis is a Leadership Development Consultant, specializing in organization and board development, strategic planning, group facilitation and community improvement. His prior experiences include serving as the Strategic Planning Officer at USC-Upstate for six years. Before joining the university, Stan accumulated over twelve years of management, engineering and manufacturing experience with Fortune 500 corporations including General Electric, Westinghouse Electric, Sara Lee Corporation and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
  • Stan holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1983) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University (1981). He is also a graduate of Leadership South Carolina (1999) and Leadership Spartanburg (1997). Stan serves his community as a Board of Directors member for the Community Foundation of Greenville. He is also a strong advocate for grassroots leadership development and very early child development. Stan resides in Greer, South Carolina.
