Description

The Leading and Learning Series is a forum for community conversation about teaching and learning in K-12 and higher education.

This gathering will feature a short presentation from Edmund T. Gordon, an associate professor of anthropology at the University of Texas-Austin and a trustee of the Austin ISD School Board, as well as the opportunity to mix and mingle with leading thinkers from the Austin education community.

Edmund T. Gordon is the chair of the African and African Diaspora Department and an associate professor in anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also currently a trustee of the Austin Independent School District School Board, serving D1 East and Northeast Austin. His teaching and research interests include: culture and power in the African Diaspora, gender studies, critical race theory, race education, and the racial economy of space and resources.

Light refreshments, beer, and wine will be provided.
