Event description

Description

The future is coming, faster than ever. This future is coming at an “accelerated” pace in this, “the age of accelerations” (as more than one author calls this era). This session will provide an opportunity to think about this coming future, and to better prepare you to lead your organization in the midst of challenges and disruptions you will face.

You will learn especially about the VUCA nature of the era (volatility; uncertainty; complexity; ambiguity); and you will prepare your own plan to win in this time of extreme disruption.

This session will be led by four accomplished speakers and consultants. Here is the agenda:

8:30-9:20 -- Randy Mayeux: extended book synopsis of The New Leadership Literacies: Thriving in a Future of Extreme Disruption and Distributed Everything by Bob Johansen.

Randy Mayeux will present the five leadership literacies that will prepare you for this time of extreme disruption. Bob Johansen, who popularized the VUCA concept, has worked for four decades with the Institute for the Future. This book provides his latest take on the coming age of extreme disruption

9:30-10:20 -- Dan Weston – Thinking from the Future

10:30-11:20 -- Pete Sorenson – The Coming Technological Shifts

"Pete Sorenson is known for his ability to see the big picture, make sense of messes, and lead teams to resolve complex issues. He relates well to people from all stations of life, speaks frankly, and has a practical eye for getting things done."

11:30-12:20 -- Ross Paterson – People at Work in the Age of Disruption

12:20-12:30 - Wrap Up and Call to Action
