Leading for Followers - 2 Tango Workshops with Oa Metzner
Come join us for an exciting event at Danceworks where you can learn the art of leading for followers in tango! Oa Metzner, an experienced tango dancer and teacher, will be leading two workshops to help you improve your tango skills. Whether you're a beginner or have been dancing for years, these workshops are perfect for any follower stepping into the shoes of leading or looking to enhance their tango leading skills.
ℹ️ ABOUT: As a follower myself, I had to devise a new path for myself when I started leading, and it wasn’t always straightforward or clear, because some things just really don’t translate directly from one role to the other. I had to look for “transitions and translations” myself. So I’m very happy to be able to share with you the key things you need to know in order to switch to leading, with more clarity and better results.

1️⃣ 7.30-8.45pm - CREATING MOVEMENT IN THE COUPLE - essentials. All levels (beginners welcome)
2️⃣ 8.45-10 - CIRCULAR MOVEMENTS AND EMBRACE - for dancing comfortably. Basic experience welcomed but not required. (Keen beginners also welcomed!)

💃 WHO IS YOUR TEACHER? Oa Metzner is a reknown tango dancer and teacher in both roles, with deep knowledge of body mechanics, musicality, technique and movement skills. Teaching and performing in both roles, dancing as a follower for 18 years and now training daily as a leader, finalist of tango competitions as a female leader, and one of the very few female leaders worldwide dancing escenario.
