Shape the Law is coming back to San Francisco! Join us for one or both workshops!
Friday, January 27th - 11:30–6:30
We'll explore what it means to be a leader and how to develop your own authentic leadership style—both in and out of the workplace. Whether you are currently in a leadership role, just starting to think about stepping into such a role, or think that a leadership role seems out of reach—this event will offer opportunities to share, reflect and learn from others.
An "unconference" is a participant-driven event that emphasizes the informal exchange of information and ideas, rather than following a conventionally structured program of events. Instead of having predetermined speakers or session topics, the participants shape the agenda themselves at the beginning of the unconference and share information and ideas in a more decentralized fashion. It's a way to foster those moments of "hallway magic" that we experience at traditional conferences.
11:30 - registraiton and lunch
12:30 - welcome
1:00 - build the agenda
1:45 - breakout sessions begin
4:45 - closing circle
5:15 - happy hour
Saturday, January 28th - 10:00–5:00
We encourage all participants from Friday's unconference to return on Saturday for a one-day hackathon. We will work in teams to develop creative solutions to some of the leadership challenges identified during the unconference. In addition to working on a specific prototype, participants will also be given ample opportunity to develop their own personal leadership plan.
We're calling this event a "hackathon" because we want to capture the spirit of fast-paced, collaborative solution-building. The expectation is that participants will develop concrete proposals or prototypes relevant to the topic of "leadership in the law," which need not be software solutions.
Parents are welcome to bring children of all ages.
