About this event
This event is to raise awareness and money to provide programs for marginalized youth in communities that are also underserved, food insecure and poverty stricken in the DC/Maryland and surrounding metropolitan areas.
The programs range from arts, entertainment, media, job training, leadership and character development, workforce development, health and wellness, IT, entrepreneurship and more.
LAC, its partners, and sponsors want the event to be a safe space of self-expression, positivity and creativity for all. We encourage attendees to express themselves in their choice of attire. A cash prize will be awarded to the most creative outfit.
The Sugar Shack is an event that appeals to educators, policymakers, young creatives, the overall community and supporters of the arts coming together in a safe space of good music, food, and community.
