Event description

Description

This November, Massachusetts will become the first state in the country forced to defend transgender neighbors at the ballot box!

Join Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, Rep. Jeffrey Sánchez, Rep. Liz Malia, Freedom For All Massachusetts, Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition and Keshet for our Jamaica Plain Community Meeting! We’ll discuss the ballot issue, and you’ll learn how you can play an integral role in upholding Massachusetts’ non-discrimination law.

This November vote YES to uphold the current law passed by the legislature (Chapter 134 of the Acts of 2016). Our community values dignity, equality and respect for EVERYONE in Massachusetts regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. Learn ways to support explicitly protecting transgender people from discrimination in public spaces like restaurants, hotels and hospitals. Discrimination has no place here, ensure transgender people are treated fairly and equally under the laws of our Commonwealth.
