In Italian, the word isolane means islander…

We invite you to join us, three isolane who have washed up on Lisbon’s shores, at Santuario Cucina, to explore island cooking from Sardinia, Sicilia and Cyprus - the three largest islands in the Mediterranean with a deliciously intertwined history. With shared inspirations from the Romans, Greeks, Arabs and Moors, plus elements that are native to each island, spend an evening eating with Julia, a Cypriot baker, Alessandra, a Sicilian pasta-maker and Dora, an artisanal cook from Sardina. 11th & 12th April from 8 pm. 45 EUR per ticket (not including booking fee - option also to pay in cash on booking). Includes a welcome drink, but wine will also be available to buy.

(Something which all islands share - a love for pasta! The Italians transported pasta to Cyprus during the Venetian invasions…)

DESSERT - A HOMAGE TO AN ORANGE

Shamali (semolina) cake with pistachios and almonds, orange creme cannoli and s'aranzata (Sardinian candied orange dessert)
