About this Event
This beautiful comedy drama is based on the chance encounter between Louise, a widow, mother of two, and Pierre, a stranger she nearly runs over with her car. Louise is struggling to save her late husband’s legacy intact by preserving their organic fruit orchards, despite the farm’s heavy debts. Would Pierre be a providential help? In spite of his state of existential loneliness, Pierre has an amusing and poetic side.
During the film, the audience is surrounded by fields of lavender, sunflowers and poppies in Provence.
It is a warm film, with the radiant yet earthy countrywoman convincingly brought to life by star actress Virginie Efira and her newfound acquaintance played with measured sensitivity by Benjamin Lavernhe, from the Comédie-française.
Contemporary issues are raised and all the senses are fulfilled. Refreshing and satisfying.
