About this Event

Rookie of the Year:

Billboard top 100 artist Rookie Of The Year established itself upon the strength of two early indie label releases. 2006 saw the release of their debut breakthrough album, The Goodnight Moon, on OneEleven/Warner Bros. Records. This album would put Rookie in the international spotlight and go on to sell over 120,000 units. Two more records (EP/LP) would follow over the next six years while the band continued to tour constantly as a headliner and in support of major acts such as Mutemath, Ryan Cabrera, Hot Chelle Rae, Quietdrive, Ashlee Simpson, Relient K, Mae, and more.

After years of international touring, song placements in film and TV, 200,000+ records sold, and multiple Billboard-charting albums and singles, Ryan Dunson toured under the Rookie Of The Year moniker as a solo act for the better part of five years. Rookie Of The Year returned with tours with Sherwood, He Is We and Forever The Sickest Kids in 2017. The group is now back as a full band, signed to Cardigan Records, and is currently working on new music and touring nationally on a regular basis.https://www.facebook.com/RookieoftheYear/

Electric Jelly Funk:

Electric Jelly Funk is a funk-fusion band from Boone, NC. The band consists of Will Whitehurst on drums, Owen Myers on guitar, Matt Guard on keyboard, Aaron West on saxophone, Rob McCormac on trumpet, Robert Carmichael on trumpet, Zach McRary on trombone, and Jacob Smith on bass and vocals.

We play a broad variety of songs including songs by Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Vulfpeck, as well as many original compositions that make up the majority of our performance content. Our main goal is that everyone can have a fun, and safe time at all of our shows. We strive for all of our music - whether originals or covers - to make you dance and keep coming back for more.

Strange Lady:

The original four members of StrangeLady had played together in various outfits since their early youth in Raleigh, NC. However, this particular collaboration came together in the early Fall of 2009. With Day and Voller in Raleigh and Jernigan and Bostic in nearby Chapel Hill, the group developed a musical connection unlike any they had felt before. A landmark debut show on Halloween in Chapel Hill followed, and since that show, StrangeLady has brought the joyful mixture of funk, rock, reggae, and blues to the Southeast. Whether it be at a local bar, music festival, private party, or wedding reception, StrangeLady has been bringing people to the dance floor with an array of dynamic covers and original songs for almost 10 years.

Recently, drawing upon a desire to take things in a much more funky direction, the band has joined forces with a powerhouse 3-piece horn section (Harris, McCraw, and Bristol) to create the ultimate funk experience. They have poured their souls into arranging some heavy original music, while curating an arsenal of the choicest funk and soul covers, designed to keep you dancing for hours on end. When StrangeLady's in town, you know it's gonna be a party.
