Event description
A nourishing Sunday morning of croissant making and meditation.

About this Event

You are invited to a very special morning at Wildlife Bakery. Be guided through the layered process of croissant making, while embodying the art of slowing down.

About

This event will begin with pranayama (breathing techniques) with Rosie to ground you into the experience.

Naomi (lead baker at Wildlife Bakery) will then teach croissant making step-by-step.

In the pauses in between steps, there will be opportunities for gentle self-enquiry, tea and coffee in the beautiful cafe space.

We will end the morning by devouring fresh-out-of-the-oven croissants and sinking into a full body relaxation meditation led by Rosie.

About Naomi

Naomi is a trained pastry chef with an eclectic history in political science and advertising. She turned her passion for baking into a career after living in Paris, and is driven by a desire to create connection and moments of joy through the sharing of beautifully crafted food. Over the years Naomi has found a dedicated yoga and meditation practice has given her the foundations to bring a calmness and presence in to the days of a fast paced kitchen, and has helped her develop a deeper relationship with her own intuition - a key ingredient to help trust in the process of baking! Mastering the art of a perfect croissant at Lune Croissanterie, she is now Head Pastry Chef at Wildlife Bakery.

About Rosie

Rosie is a full-time yoga and meditation teacher in the Northside of Melbourne. She completed an Honours degree in Psychology at RMIT in 2019, researching body acceptance and intuitive eating. Rosie's teachings are influenced by her deep interest in mental health and wellbeing, in particular - building a loving relationship with oneself. In the past, she studied design, which she believes informs the way she creates spaces and experiences for self-enquiry and complete nourishment. Yoga has been a transformative part of her life over the past 6 years, so she shares from a place of deep respect and passion for the practice.

Our why

Food ties us to people, place and experience. It is emotionally and sensorily evocative. Smells, tastes and textures can instantly trigger memories and feelings within us.

In modern city life we see how easy it can be to disconnect from the passion and time that goes behind what we consume. Not to mention how easy it is to rush through the experience of eating or feel pressure or guilt about food.

We believe that food is love, and that food is a rich part of our human experience to be embraced.

We also believe in creating experiences where others can slow down and become more connected to the beauty in everyday moments.

Your croissants

Croissant making is a long process. We’ve included the important bits in this workshop (and will prepare a few things earlier)

The croissants you will make at this event will need an extra day to evolve and bake. You’ll be able to collect your batch in the days following.

The space

Wildlife Bakery is closed on this date, so we have the whole venue to ourselves!

About you

This is a nurturing event to take yourself to, or to share with loved ones. No experience in meditation is required. You can choose to be seated or lying down during these moments, feel free to reach ut if you have any concerns.

What to bring

You may like to bring a journal for self-reflection. We will provide mats and bolsters for the final relaxation. If you lean on the colder side of things, bring something cosy to wear.

Bookings

This is a boutique event with a 10 person capacity. We want you to feel seen and supported throughout.
