Lay Servant Ministries Preaching Workshop

Description
This course is designed for both the Lay Speaker who want to enhance their preaching skills as well as the Lay Servant who perceives the call to a preaching ministry. Participants will receive personalized coaching and feedback in this small group approach to learning.
October 22nd and 29th, 9:00am-4:00pm.
You must attend both days.

Registration deadline: October 7th
This is a two day intensive workshop presented by Rev. Rody Rowe, retired Elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church. Each participant will produce a written sermon and submit it for evaluation to Rody Rowe no later than October 14th. (more details will be provided when you register) This sermon will provide the basis for one on one coaching with Rev. Rowe and will be presented to the group on the second day of the workshop. In this safe, grace filled environment, each participant will in Rody's words, "Learn to preach in such a way to help listeners fall more deeply in love with God in Christ."

About the instructor:
Rody served as a full-time local pastor for 35 years in the PNW. In retirement, the Rowe’s run a non-profit to help severely malnourished children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. (See feedcongokids.com)
He understands preaching to be a sacred calling demanding the very best of us. He spends his time writing, gardening, grand parenting and serving the church and the people he has been given to love.
