Event description

Description

A young and extraordinarily talented artist, Arianna Neikrug has already made her mark in the jazz world. She was the winner of the 2015 Sarah Vaughn International Jazz Vocal Competition and has performed at some of the hottest jazz clubs in the US, including Birdland in NYC and Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. In July 2016, Arianna traveled with her group to Montreal, Canada to perform at the International Montreal Jazz Festival alongside some of the most renowned jazz artists. Her first show was an extraordinary success, earning her a standing ovation! Neikrug has also won an Outstanding Soloist Award at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, where her jazz vocal group, "Extensions" won first place.

The album was produced, arranged/written by multi Grammy-award winning pianist, composer, arranger and producer, Laurence Hobgood and features his playing with his great trio mates, Guilio Cetto on bass and Jared Schonig on drums. Arianna will perform from her debut album, Changes, which includes her first single, "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most." Changes will include interpretations of Great American Songbook material alongside Pop & R&B songs from the 70's.

Easy parking, lower ticket pricing, no bridge toll, and wine available! Meet the performers in an after-performance reception. See you at the Lark!

"I can honestly say that she's the most theoretically informed singer that I've ever worked with - in terms of just knowing music" - Laurence Hobgood, multi Grammy Award- winning pianist, producer, arranger, composer.

"Laurence Hobgood is pretty much the king of modern Songbook interpretation." Jazziz Magazine, 2018
