Event description

Description

To celebrate the launch of The Brazilian Report, a new media outlet dedicated to current affairs in Brazil, we're hosting a panel discussion to show you who we are and what we do.

It is now accepted that social media deeply influences, or even ‘swings’, democratic elections. Brazil itself is now preparing for a divisive election in 2018, as extreme right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro – our country’s version of Donald Trump – grows in popularity.

Could the upsets of Brexit and Donald Trump be repeated in Brazil?

How – and to what extent – will social media impact Brazil’s elections?

Is there a credible threat of significant foreign influence?

  • Gustavo Ribeiro, the editor-in-chief of The Brazilian Report, will mediate this discussion in English between:
  • Diego Iraheta, Editor in Chief of The Huffington Post Brasil
  • Marina Novaes, SEO editor of El Pais Brasil

The panel discussion will be followed by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Participants of the event will benefit from a free 1-month trial and a 10% discount on our yearly subscription plan. The promotion will be valid for the first 30 people to register for the event.

We will broadcast the panel live on our Facebook page at 7:30PM. We invite you to like and share our page.
