Description

AMBER has invested in a suite of 3D printing technology which can service the full spectrum of materials from ceramics and metals to polymers and biomaterials. This will allow us to become leaders in this emerging technology which is critical to a variety of sectors within Ireland including medical devices, manufacturing technologies and ICT. Come along to learn more about our new equipment and how you can access it to further drive your business or academic research.

9.30 – 10.00 Registration and Tea/Coffee

10.00 - 12.30 Presentations by representatives from Government, academia and industry including:

  • Prof. Moataz Attallah, Chair in Advanced Materials Processing, University of Birmingham
  • Dr Martin Schwentenwein, Head of Material Development at Lithoz GmbH, Vienna
  • Prof Michael Mackay, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Delaware
  • Senior personnel from Henkel and DePuy Synthes
  • AMBER's leading academics including multiple ERC awardees Prof Daniel Kelly and Prof Valeria Nicolosi

12.30 – 13.15 Lunch

13.30 - 16.30 Tours of the Additive Manufacturing Lab (Grand Canal Dock) and meetings with AMBER PIs in the field of 3D printing including Profs Daniel Kelly, Garret O'Donnell, Rocco Lupoi, Daniel Trimble.
