Event description
Study on the Needs of Refugee Children Arriving in Ireland through the Irish Refugee Protection Programme

About this Event

This important study was commissioned by the Children's Rights Alliance and completed by Dr Muireann Ní Raghallaigh, Dr Karen Smith and Jennifer Scholtz. In 2015, the Irish Government committed to accepting a total of 4,000 refugees under resettlement and relocation mechanisms put in place by the European Union. The Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP) was established to coordinate provision for the refugees arriving to Ireland. The study explores the situation of children and young people admitted under the IRPP with their families and the supports and ongoing development of the Irish resettlement model to improve the experience of refugee children in Ireland.
