Description

This event is offered to registered family participants of the 2019 United States Conference of Mayors in Honolulu.

Join us at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and immerse yourself in the Hawaiian culture as we share some of our most popular Hawaiian activities.

The sturdy lauhala (pandanus leaf) was used for roof thatching, woven into items like place mats, jewelry boxes, floor covering, sandals, pillows, hats, purses and more. You can still buy many woven handicrafts made from pandanus in Hawaii to take home as souvenirs. Try your hand at the ancient skill of turning natural materials into something useful and functional.

Location: Please plan to meet 15 minutes prior to the start time at the City's Hospitality Desk in the Coral Lounge.
