Latino Policy Summit
Tue, May 16, 2017, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM PDT
We are living in a critical moment in our nation's history. Now is the time for Latinos to stand united, stay focused, and harness the power that is ours.
When we gather in May in Sacramento we can take pride that California has been a national leader in standing up against hate and intolerance. We can also take pride in the fact that Latinos hold top elected positions in our state government. To keynote this year's Summit, we've invited Xavier Beccera, the first Latino Attorney General of California.
We know that we all must keep working together to both safeguard and strengthen our communities. As the last election unvelied, we must continue to build our political power and create avenues for economic mobility. To do so we must focus on our youth--Latino Millennials will be more than half of the eligible voting age population in a few short years. Likewise, as we continue to defend our communities, we must also actively work on an agenda that both builds our economic power and prepares more Latino youth for high-paying jobs of the 21st century.
