LATINO ACTORS NETWORKING EVENT AT CASA FINA RESTAURANT & CANTINA

Come meet other Latino Actors trying to break into the industry and get advice from a Casting Agent & a Talent Manager who will be honest and tell you why actors don't get selected or get representation. With their advice and straight forward talk you can get a great idea on how to build a successful career as a professional actor.

Marilyn R Atlas is a Talent/Literary Manager and Producer. Atlas has long been committed to diversity and portrayal of strong female protagonists. She’s the producer of the HBO Sundance winning film Real Women Have Curves and The Choking Game on Lifetime amongst other films. Marilyn also produced several plays including the award winning “To Gillian on her 27th Birthday” and (Ashman Menken) “God Bless You Mr. Rosewater” as well as “Real Women Have Curves” at the Guadalupe Theater in San Antonio among other plays. She has spoken at numerous writers’ conferences throughout the US and Europe. She’s currently developing projects based on diverse characters such as the Gary Phillips books, based on the Martha Chaney character, and the award-winning book series, “The Code Busters Club” for television, as well as co-producing a limited series in conjunction with a Chinese-based company. She is the co-author of a relationship-based, screenwriting guide called “Dating Your Character,” – Stairway Press, Fall 2016.

EDWARD PADILLA is an actor, director, producer and owner of LaloPad Company - a Casting Agency. He has performed throughout the US. He was in Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas at Geffen Playhouse, Luisa Fernanda at Ricardo Montalban & Million Dollar Theaters, and in the workshop productions of Sister Act at Pasadena Playhouse's Carrie Hamilton Theater and Zorro the musical in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. Film credits include Spider-Man 3, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Mr. Jones. TV credits include recurring as "Javier" on Suburgatory (seasons I, II, III) and "Teofilo" on Los Beltran (season 2), co-starring on the new Will & Grace, Jane The Virgin, I’m Dying Up Here, SouthLAnd, General Hospital, Dirt, The Shield, Windfall, Bones, King of Queens, Drew Carey Show, and more. He has done over 150 on-camera & voice over national commercials for Radio & TV. As a director, he has worked with theater groups and shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, El Paso. He graduated with honors from USC School of Theatre, receiving a BA and the David Dukes Scholarship for Acting. He studied with British American Drama Academy (BADA) at Oxford University. He is President of the Board of Directors at Casa 0101 Theater and was Artistic Director from 2006 to 2009.
