Trainer - Vanessa Rawlings-Jackson
Vanessa is Executive Director of Cultivate, the cultural organisational development agency and a freelance consultant. She began her career in the arts as the first General Manager at Perth Theatre and went on to hold key marketing and audience development roles as Communications and Marketing Director and managerial consultant to major UK companies including Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, Birmingham Rep, Nottingham Playhouse and Leicester Haymarket.
She worked with Arts Council England specialising in marketing and audience development and business planning for major capital projects. During this period she gained experience in a wide range of art forms and undertook business and organisational consultancy work for an extensive range of cultural organisations throughout the UK and abroad as well as for the Arts Councils of England and Wales.
Vanessa specialises in governance, business planning and implementation, advocacy and developing skills and strategies for marketing, audience development fundraising and philanthropy. She has developed a range of toolkits, templates and training workshops on Governance Business Planning, Marketing and Audience Development. Her publications include “Subscription- What Now” following research in the USA and UK. She has facilitated and created events and conferences on audience development, philanthropy and managed a range of training programmes for Cultivate, Arts Council England and Arts Council Wales.

If you're a Member or Network Associate of LAS, it's free as part of your membership.
For non-members, the cost is £10.
Where is it held?
The Saltire Society is kindly hosting their event in their Edinburgh office at 9 Fountains Close, 22 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1TF.
What should I bring to the training?
You don't need to bring anything, however, a pen and paper may be handy to make notes.
Will there be any refreshments?
Yes, tea and coffee will be available from 10.30am
