Amy Sherman - Great American Brew Trail
After graduating from Aquinas College, Amy Sherman found her true calling in the kitchen. Working in professional kitchens for over 15 years, Amy has worked almost every job in the industry. She developed her love of craft beer in college when she started homebrewing. As the host of the Great American Brew Trail, Amy tasted her way across Michigan, visiting over 26 different breweries and bringing their story to you. Now airing on WILZ 10 Lansing, the GABT brings you Michigan beer, one pint at a time. Amy currently teaches cooking classes around GR, hosts international culinary travel experiences, does on air media for Spartan Stores, raises three kids, walks the dog, and tries to have at least one beer every day.
Sonia Buonodono - Eagle Monk
I attended the first Michigan Brewer's Guild Brewery Tour in Holland Michigan and I was hooked. I've been to over 50 microbreweries in Michigan and I always enjoy the experience and the beer. Dan and I had a long range plan to open a microbrewery in Lansing and opened August 15, 2012. As owner and manager of Eagle Monk Pub and Brewery I am in charge of marketing, scheduling, the kitchen, and the front of the house. Dan is the owner/brewer and in charge of making the beer, wine, soda and completing all of the business paperwork. Most evenings I am managing the dining room or working behind the bar; explaining the styles of beer, giving brewery tours or explaining to new customers why we don't sell bud light.
Amanda Geiger - Hideout Brewing Company
Manda started working for The Hideout Brewing Company in 2005, but it wasn't until 2012 that she started brewing. On top of brewing on the 5 barrel system, she hosts a brewing class every Wednesday on the smaller Pilot system. Manda writes her own recipes and a couple of her beers have become 'mainstays' on the menu. She has also helped out with brewing at Michigan Beer Cellar.
Kate Avery - Brewery Vivant
Kate Avery is the Eastside Events rep for Brewery Vivant, a Belgo-Franco inspired brewery located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a proud Spartan graduate of Michigan State University. She cut her craft beer teeth giving tours at Harpoon Brewery, in Boston, Massachusetts, which lead to sales gig in Greater Boston. Now, back at home in the Mitten, she is happy to be promoting a small, sustainability-focused, community-minded brewery that happens to make some great beer and packages it in a Michigan-Adventure-friendly way: the can. You'll find her toting cans all around this great state kayaking, hiking, running, and driving her little Volkswagen (unopened cans in the car, that is).

The goal of Lansing Beer Week is to raise awareness of the Michigan craft beer industry while promoting patronage to local establishments and stimulating the greater Lansing area’s retail economy and Michigan made products.
Lansing Beer Week was established by ‘I’m a Beer Hound’ founder, Paul Star and ‘Motor City Brew Tours’ founder, Steve Johnson. Building on the successes of other cities beer weeks, organizers are partnering with local breweries and beer bars to create beer events.
