Landscape Photography

Saturday, January 12

9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Milton Heiberg

This one day, three session workshop will cover composition, timing, lighting, weather conditions, as well as processing images on the computer.

Session 1: 9:00am–11:00am: Classroom orientation and a lecture preparing for field work. Bring three of your favorite images (any subject-on a jump drive or CD).

Session 2: 11:00am–1:00pm: Field work in the gardens with instructor input.

Break for lunch 1:00–2:00pm

Session 3: 2:00–3:00pm: Classroom show and tell with critique plus image refinement techniques in Lightroom, Photoshop, and other software.

Participants should bring a digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR is preferred, but a point-&-shoot camera is ok) and a tripod if you own one.

Milton Heiberg (www.miltonheiberg.com) started his own studio in NYC and founded and taught at the NYC Audubon Society from 1982 until 1998. He has done assignment for McGraw-Hill, HarperCollins, Time Warner, Penguin, and National Geographic; is the author of eight books—most recent is The Essentials of Nature Photography, 2ed. He also teaches at the Crealde School of Art and is a frequent lecturer.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.

Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
