Event description

Description

A unique opportunity for local groups to find out how being a part of Land of Oak & Iron can benefit your group. Come along to promote your own group’s activities and share ideas with others.

The programme for the day will be:

9.30 am Arrival and registration, refreshments

10 am – 12 pm Presentation and workshops; you will be able to attend 2 of the workshop sessions

12 pm – 1 pm Lunch

There will be four workshop sessions, each person will be able to choose two from:

1. Friends of Land of Oak & Iron - meet some of the local volunteers who are on the Friends Steering Group, listen to their ideas of what being a Friend will mean and share your own thoughts.

2. Land of Oak & Iron Community Grants – find out what you can apply for, how to apply and hear from a local group who have been successful in securing a grant, with time for questions.

3. Benefits of local group involvement in Land of Oak & Iron – find out how being part of Land of Oak & Iron can help your group grow, support the activities you deliver and bring new members.

4. Find out about the fantastic industrial, natural and cultural heritage which makes Land of Oak & Iron special – this session will be a presentation all about the people, places and features of the area, many of which are still little known secrets.

There will be opportunities for local groups to have an information stand at the event, or to bring promotional materials to promote their own activities. Please contact the event organiser, Kath Marshall-Ivens, if you would like to do so on landofoakandiron@groundwork.org.uk 01207 524 883
