Description

The theme for this year's annual spring seminar, "Pathways to Healthy Lakes" will be held on Friday June 2nd at The Canadian Club located in Barre, Vermont. Learn how a fundamental shift in demographics, social consciousness, and science is changing how nature is integrated into the design of our buildings and landscapes. Other topics will include: The new municipal road standards and slope stabilization methods for roads along lakes; Funding available for road projects; Specific examples of bioengineered stabilization projects; Cyanobacteria Monitoring; AIS decontamination discussion and demonstration; A Field Trip to North Montpelier Pond; and, Pathways to Vermont Lakes, from driveways and foot accesses to directing stormwater flow that use ecological approaches for protecting water quality and wildlife habitat.

The keynote address will feature Rebecca Lindenmyer, of Linden L.A.N.D. Group presenting "Landscape for the Lake".
