The Sunsets

The Sunsets provide an energetic show like no other. With original material influenced by decades past, the band delivers a high energy show with crisp synthesizers, driving guitars, explosive drums, and a roaring saxophone that will get you off your feet.

The band's debut album “Heartbeat Massacre” is now available online for purchase/streaming on all major platforms. “Heartbeat Massacre” was recorded at The Sound Shelter in Nashville, TN under engineer/producer Brett R. Stewart. The album was mastered by Hans DeKline Mastering in Los Angeles, CA.

“Heartbeat Massacre” provides an array of upbeat songs inspired by various events that occur as the sun falls and covers topics such as love, heartbreak, neon, vampires, and much more, encapsulated in a love letter to a long-lost decade.

Our Story Thus Far:

Our story began in the summer of 2015 in northeast Alabama when the band began working on a collection of demos that would serve as the first incarnation of THE SUNSETS. Obsessed with the 1980s new wave, the band wanted to write music that captured the energy of decades past, but was still accessible to the modern ear. That year, the band spent time performing their original songs as well as covers in the cities surrounding their hometown.

In May of 2016, the band recorded their debut demo EP “Fatal Attraction” at The Sound Shelter in Nashville, TN and continued to hone their craft throughout the year playing various clubs, bars, and restaurants. The band closed out their year by performing as direct support for The Ataris in Atlanta, GA at the infamous Masquerade. During this year the band began to split their home between Alabama and Georgia as they recruited new members from Atlanta.

2017 began with the recording of their debut album “Heartbeat Massacre”. 2017 also brought the band to new heights as they performed at high-profile engagements such as “Destination Okeechobee 2017” (Gainesville, FL) and the Cutting Edge (CE) Music Business Conference (New Orleans, LA). The band also provided direct support for notable acts in Atlanta, GA such as She Wants Revenge (Interscope Records/Universal Music Group), Alvarez Kings (Warner Bros. Records / Sire), and Emarosa (Hopeless Records / Rise Records) at the Masquerade.

On July 1, 2018, the band released their debut album "Heartbeat Massacre" performing it's entirety live at the infamous Masquerade [Hell] in Atlanta, Georgia. The band would spend the remainder of the year beginning work on their sophomore record, playing a month-long residency, and adding new members to the live lineup.

The band began a new era in 2019. The band is currently working on their sophomore record as well as playing shows across the USA.

The band also actively participates in philanthropic ventures and has partnered with Children's Miracle Network, The Choice: A Mental Health Initiative, Neverthirst India Well Project, and The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Since 2015, the band has performed hundreds of shows across the USA at various venues including clubs, festivals, conferences, restaurants, bars, houses, universities, and scuba diving parks. They have made countless friends along the way and their story is far from over. Thank you for supporting our dream, listening to our music, and being a vital part of our journey in music.

Welcome to the world of The Sunsets. Welcome to our story.
