‘Unique Challenges Faced by LAFD Women’ - Dr. Julie Snyder Dr. Snyder will address the unique issues faced by first responders and the short- and long-term effects this has on women firefighters and their families. The impact of PTSD and bringing awareness and de-stigmatization to this often-misunderstood response to traumatic events will also be discussed.
‘Listening to your Body’ - Dr. Crystal Quarry This session will discuss how our bodies deal with pain and provide information on the different types of pain and provide helpful suggestions and education on pain management to relieve tension in the body.
‘Do’s and Don’ts in the Workplace’ - Dr. Laura Kokinda A discussion on identifying and addressing workplace violence. Dr. Kokinda explains how to know what your rights are and how to take action when needed.
Lunch - Taco Bar (vegetarian options available)
Afternoon Breakout Sessions - Dr. Krystle Madrid - Attendees will break out into groups and choose three topics to discuss. **Captains and Chiefs will break out into their own leadership discussion in another room.
