Event description
LadyDrinks partners with UPS to host efficiency expert Ari Meisel , author of 'Less Doing'

About this Event

One of the activities I do every Sunday is a 'braindump' of all the things I have to do during the week. This is a written list of all the personal and professional items I have to get done. This accomplishes two things: One, I'm decluttering my brain and making space for the big picture thinking for my business. I'm also creating an 'external brain' so I have a reference point when I am structuring my 'to-do' list for each day of the week. It helps to cut down on the overwhelm. I learned this critical piece of productivity from reading efficiency expert Ari Meisel's writings. We are so proud to partner with UPS to present his teachings on how to be productive.

OUR VERY EFFICIENT EVENT TIMELINE

  • 6:00-6:15PM ARRIVAL AND GUEST CHECK-IN
  • 6:15-6:45PM JOYA AND ARI CONVERSATION ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE EFFICIENT
  • 6:45-7:15 WE INTRODUCE EACH ATTENDEE AND ADDRESS THEIR EFFICIENCY ISSUE
  • 7:15-8:30 PM TOUR OF UPS OPERATIONS AND THEIR EFFICIENCY FOR THE HOLIDAYS

ARI MEISEL'S STORY

Arii Meisel is an entrepreneur, author, CEO, TED speaker, real estate developer, green building consultant, and productivity expert. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease while building his property development business in 2007. Crohn’s is an incurable disease of the digestive tract. Ari’s case was severe and required over a dozen daily medications and several hospital visits. After reaching a personal low point in hospital, Ari decided he would do everything in his power to strengthen his by then weak body.

Through a combination of yoga, nutrition, natural supplements and rigorous exercise (Triathlon and Crossfit) he was able to fight back the symptoms of Crohn's until he was finally able to suspend his medication. Eventually, Ari was declared free of all traces of the ‘incurable’ disease, and competed in Ironman France in June of 2011. Ari has since spoken at seminars and at a regional TED Talk about his struggle against a seemingly insurmountable opponent.

Through the process of data collection, self-tracking, and analysis, Ari helped develop his company, Less Doing. This was a way of dealing with the daily stresses of life by optimizing, automating, and outsourcing all of his tasks in life and business

WHAT IS 'LESS DOING?'

Less Doing is built on nine guiding principles described in detail in his latest book,‘The Replaceable Founder”. It is a comprehensive attack on overwhelm that offers guidance in three fundamental areas:

  • Communicate Effectively-- Inbox Zero, Asynchronous Communication, and 6 Levels of Delegation
  • Manage Projects -- Idea Capture, Process Management Systems, and Accountability
  • Perfect Processes -- Optimize, Automate, and Outsource
